The recently enacted Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) has introduced significant funding for broadband development to help close the digital divide and ensure all Americans have access to reliable, high speed, and affordable Internet. This comes in addition to broadband funding available through other state and federal programs, such as the American Rescue Plan Act, to improve economic resiliency, increase access to healthcare services, and enrich educational experiences.
In response to the IIJA, GrantWorks established an entire department 100% dedicated to the management and oversight of broadband grants. Some of our customers include State, Local, and Tribal governments, State Broadband Offices, Economic Development Organizations, Industrial Development Agencies, as well as Internet Service Providers (ISPs).
GrantWorks' Broadband Services Team provides:
- Time-sensitive & critical technical support to identify unserved and under-served broadband coverage areas
- Ability to leverage any allocated state/federal funds to secure other available funding sources
- Assistance in the procurement of optimal broadband providers to construct open and accessible public broadband infrastructure

Broadband Funding Sources
The below funding opportunities are available for broadband deployment in your community. GrantWorks will update information as it is made available.
National Telecommunications and Information Administration
On November 15, 2021, President Biden signed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act into law, building upon other funding sources for broadband deployment to lay critical groundwork for widespread access and affordability of broadband. Listed below are some of the main IIJA programs being implemented by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).
American Rescue Plan Act
The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) is a funding program administrated by the Department of Treasury to provide fast and direct economic assistance for American workers, families, small businesses, and industries. It continues many of the programs started by the CARES Act (2020) and Consolidated Appropriations Act (2021) by adding new phases, new allocations, and new guidance to address continuing pandemic-related crises, and fund recovery efforts in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
